| Funding, Focus, and Services
Our Legal Services proudly offers pro-bono services to individuals seeking asylum and refuge Ukraine and Afghanistan, and applying for work authorization for Cubans and Haitians. Our pro-bono support includes assistance with immigration applications, consultations, and legal guidance to help them navigate the complex immigration system. While our pro-bono services might not cover everyone, our Fee-for-Service program offers affordable rates, ensuring that individuals from diverse backgrounds can still access professional legal assistance for their immigration needs.
We understand that legal terms can be unfamiliar, especially for those who have recently arrived. Here's a brief explanation of the terms we use:
Pro-Bono: Pro-bono, short for "pro bono publico, " means providing professional services at no cost. In the context of our Legal Program, pro-bono legal services are offered to eligible individuals who meet specific criteria.
Fee-for-Service: For those who may not qualify for pro-bono services or have the means to pay for legal representation, we offer our fee-for-service program. This option ensures that our professional legal support is available at an affordable rate.
